The Mere Court Hotel, Knutsford - Mr & Mrs Edwards

Gareth and Emma had some unfortunate luck on the run up to their wedding so we knew we wanted to make sure we captured some fantastic memories for them.

The morning of the big day arrived and we couldn't ask for better weather in late December. There was a chill in the air but a slight sprinkling of snow on the ground made it perfect for a winter wedding!  Apart from the obligatory nerves, Emma was looking very calm when we arrived and within a few short hours, she was ready to leave for Church.  Dressed in an elegantly laced gown, little did she know that when she stepped outside that Gareth had secretly arranged for a horse drawn carriage to take her to Church.

It was always important to Emma and her family to get married at their local church and for that to play a big part in the day.  St Catherine's in Didsbury was a lovely, bright church with a really welcoming feel about it and the ceremony was a very intimate service with all their close family and friends present.

After capturing the group shot of everyone once the ceremony had finished, we held Gareth, Emma and their immediate families back whilst the rest of the guests made their way to the venue.  Knowing how important that Church was to them, we wanted to ensure we took some photographs here despite being tight for time.

The choice of venue was Mere Court Hotel set in the heart of Cheshire.  Albeit the temperature had dropped, Gareth and Emma were great sports and persevered throughout so we could capture some stunning images in the hotel grounds; having been given a blanket of snow overnight, the setting couldn't have been better.

The guests then enjoyed the obligatory speeches from a proud Father of the Bride, a nervous Groom and the Three Amigos which were Gareth's Best Men, after tucking into a lovely three course meal.  The couple later welcomed their evening guests who were given the opportunity to help themselves to a gourmet hot chocolate with nibbles which was the perfect way to warm up on a cold December evening.  With the music playing long into the evening and the guests filling up the dance floor, we grabbed Gareth, Emma, their groomsmen and bridesmaids for some amazing sparkler photographs outside.  It was a perfect end to a perfect day.  We wish Mr and Mrs Edwards all the best for many years to come.
